Complete Pressure Washing Job in Mequon, WI
Recently we had the opportunity to clean a farmhouse located in Mequon. The owners had just recently moved in and wanted to have their home cleaned up before they decided to paint the exterior. The roof desperately needed a cleaning as well as the exterior walls of the house. As you can see in the photos below, the house had numerous issues. There was algae and years of built up dirt throughout the bricks.
Cleaning of the Roof
This roof has a ton of lichens(a form of algae) that have accumulated over the years. Left unchecked, lichens can really embed on the shingles. This can contribute to degradation of the roof over time. With our low pressure washing method, we actually treat and kill the lichens first. In turn, they will eventually detach from the roof. Instead of taking high pressure and causing degradation to the roof and shortening the life span, we use a low pressure cleaning method that preserves the integrity and allows the rain to eventually flush the lichens off.
Before treatment it is imperative to make sure the gutters are flowing properly and any debris blown off the roof and gutters. Check out the pictures below to see the process. When then lichens turn white that means they are dead and will eventually fall from the roof and get flushed down.
